Teaching Philosophy
I approach yoga as an expression of energy, breath and spirit. Healing takes place on all levels as we move with our breath, align our bodies and unlock and release stuck energy. Finding just the right balance of effort and ease on the mat, we learn to extend this into the rest of our lives: to be fully present and awake in the world while remaining calm, peaceful and steady.

One of yoga’s greatest gifts is its invitation to slow down: a much needed counter-balance to the fast pace at which most of us live. So many things tug at our attention; yoga helps us steady and focus our awareness and feel more spacious in our bodies. Our hearts open and we touch our true nature, that place where we are always connected to spirit and each other.
My classes are intelligently sequenced and fun, where students can explore what’s possible in a nurturing, supportive environment. Emphasis is placed on alignment and breath, not only to deepen one’s physical practice, but as a method for anchoring awareness in the present. I also teach meditation, which is often weaved into a session of yoga.
